Company Information

Brøderbund software was founded in 1980. In the early 1980s they released some game classics for the most common 8-bit computers of those days. Lode Runner, Choplifter, David´s Midnight Magic, Karateka, to name just a handfull of that area. Prince of Persia was one of their later „hits“. At the Summer-CES in Chicago in1983 Brøderbund presented their game „Sky Blazer“ for some computer systems, for the VCS 2600 too. In the end did never release any game fort he VCS 2600, only two of their games were released by Atari under their licence for the Atari 7800 system,(Karateka, Choplifter). Nowadays Brøderbund belongs to an irish software company (Riverdeep) and still sells software for homecomputers (learning and application software).
