Module Information |
"Off your Rocker" was the second game Amiga designed for the JoyBoard. When the market for Atari 2600 games more or less collapsed, Amiga cut off the Atari 2600 department. Exactly at that time the modules of the game should be labeled by a company. Without payment by Amiga, this company unceremoniously retained the modules and years later sold them to a company called Pleasant Valley Video, which stuck on a homemade label and sold it. |
Company Information |
Another company that was founded by a former Atari employee (Jay Miner, he was involved in the development of the Atari 2600 console and the Atari 400/800 computer). Jay Miner left Atari in 1981 and founded the company Hi Toro, which was renamed to Amiga Corporation shortly after. Amiga produced several games for the Atari VCS, but only three of them were actually finished. "Surf's up" was never sold, "Off your Rocker" was only sold in small numbers by Happy Valley Video (Pleasant Valley Video). "Mogul Maniac" was therefore the only game which was officially sold by Amiga. The special thing about Amiga was that also joysticks and of course the Amiga Joyboard (the controller was sold in a bundle with "Mogul Maniac") were produced. In this phase Jay Miner also had the idea to develop a new computer, which actually resulted in the Commodore Amiga. But that is another story... |
